Family of 9 Bullnose Rays Visit the Dock (Cape Coral)

Written By Angelo Bodetti on Thursday, May 21, 2015 | Thursday, May 21, 2015

I spotted this family of Bullnose Rays swimming around the dock in my Cape Coral Florida Canal. It is Ray spawning season and these were on the smaller side, so it is safe to assume they are very young and learning the lay of the land.

These are Bullnose Rays, also known as Crownose Rays and can be identified by their longer pointed wings and their flat squarish snout.
